Weekly Update + Training

Weekly update

The end of the season may be nearing but with the number of clubs in the country there is no sign of races ending, with the race season continuing well into September at this stage. Plenty of races on offer over the bank holiday weekend and a few of the Nenagh crew were out supporting these so well done all.

As ever the results come with a health warning that sneaky snaking continues and so anyone who got away with racing and not being mentioned in the report can indeed consider themselves fair sly….!!!

Landers Triathlon Kerry

On Saturday Tralee TC hosted their Landers event over a Sprint distance. David Molamply who is having a storming season was out for this and kept up his good form and is taking chunks of time off his PBs.

Loughrea National Series

Sunday saw a National series event in Loughrea so just up the road from us. In addition there was a junior event and this was also supported by the club.

In the Youth National Championships Aoife Duggan was taking part in her first competitive race and did brilliantly in the 12-13 age group which had over 50 competitors.Well done Aoife!!

Odie O’Driscoll was racing in the 14-15 age group where 34 competitors took to the start. Odie did brilliantly throughout and finished well up the field in 14th. Well done!

In the main race there was a large and competitive field, as is the norm with all national series events. 2 members of the club hit the startline for this and both Eoin and Seamus finished well up the large field. Well done!

Try a tri 2 August 27th

The triathlon season is almost at an end but we have 2 more events on the club calendar. The first of these is the second season Try a tri, which is again offered to promote the sport to entry level triathletes. This is being run on Saturday morning and will take the same format as the original Try a tri that was held in June. It is free to enter to all those who took part in the first event but as the pool is open to the public at the same time, numbers are limited and there will be no entries taken on the day. So if you know anyone who intends to take part well then fill out one of the entry form and get them into a member of the committee as soon as possible!!
