Weekly schedule: 

A massive change in weather conditions over the last week with temperatures dropping!! However, did this not dampen the enthusiasm and there were great attendances at sessions during the week, including our new novice sessions. With only a few weeks left until we take an official training break its great to see numbers continue to increase, so long may this continue!!!

As we have mentioned before we are targeting a good club turn out at the Birdhill Turkey run in 2 weeks time. It is always easier to train and stay motivated if there is an event to train for and with a number of distances this event is ideal for all members, including all new novice runners!! Entry is online at their website so get registered!!!!

The end of year Christmas party has been arranged for Sat 19th Dec at 8ish in Rockys so keep the date free!!

Novice run and bike sessions:

Our novice sessions both went ahead this week and had great turn outs for both the run and cycle. We had 15 or so at the run on Thursday and completed a similar session to the first week so well done all.

The first novice cycle went ahead on Saturday morning and although it was cold the weather was crisp and dry making it fine for cycling. We had 12 in the group and completed a 20k loop, which was undertaken with minimal fuss and no mechanical issues so well done all!!

For next week, the sessions for both the run and cycle will be similar to the previous week so anyone who wishes to attend is more than welcome. Both these sessions are open to all, both members and non-members who wish to improve their running and cycling, so if you know anyone who might be interested then let them know!!


Swimming sessions: 2  morning sessions this week. Tuesday will be an aerobic strength set while Thursday is a stroke development session.  As the sessions are getting longer as we go along in order to complete the full set we are moving the START TIME TO 6.30!!!!!!



Running session: 1 session this week, a 400m repeat rep session. The novice run will be taking place at the same time and will be largely similar to the 1k repeats last week (it will be a fartlek session but more on this at training!).

Wednesday Swim: 8:00pm in Nenagh Leisure Centre – suitable for beginners.
Thursday Morning Swim – 6:30 – 7:30 – Pool Running: interval based run set starts at 6:30pm at the Tech (Nenagh College). Novice Run: 6:30pm at the Tech (Nenagh College)
Saturday Main Club Cycle – 9am – Abbey Court Hotel.Novice Cycle: 11am – Abbey Court Junior CC training – every 2nd Saturday 2.30

Sunday              Ras training group cycle (advanced cyclists) – 8am Tescos
