Weekend Cycling

The forecasts aren’t looking great for Saturday or Sunday morning so our cycling plans for the weekend might come unstuck. Fingers crossed we get some sunshine because we have another big weekend of cycling planned.

Saturday Cycle

Junior Cycle: starts at 2:30pm. This cycle is focused more on our younger members. Older juniors should try to attend the senior cycle at 9:00am.

Senior Cycle: starts at 9:00am from the hotel. this week’s route sees us tackle Dolla hill early in the cycle before heading over to Rearcross, Newport, Daly’s Cross, O’Briens Bridge, Killaloe, Portroe and back to Nenagh. With the hill coming so early in the cycle, we will split into 3 from the start.

Group 1: will cycle straight out to Dolla. (10km less)

Group 2: will cycle with group 3 and turn right before Toom (5km less)

Group 3: will cycle out to Toomevara first

Group selection: we will be assigning people into groups on the morning of the cycle. A lot depends on who turns up and how many turn up. The weather could play havoc with our plans too so bare with us for this week.

Each group will chase the other and will probably meet up somewhere on the road to Newport. If the groups don’t meet up, continue on in your own group. If the groups do merge, another interval will take place after Newport. Take it easy from Ballina back to Nenagh.

Sunday Cycle

the plan is to head down to Tipperary town for this one. It is a long distance cycle that will start at 8:00am from Tescos. If the weather is poor we will stay closer to home. If the weather is awful, I would imagine most people will stick to their turbos.
