Finally, the weather seems to be improving a little. Hopefully that translates into bodies on bikes at training and racing this weekend. The big races are in Limerick and up in Mayo and we wish all the lads racing the best of luck! Back in Nenagh, we expect a good crowd out on Saturday and Sunday. We intend to get a good bit of mileage in this weekend to make up for the last few weeks. Come out and support the club sessions!
Friday Training – let’s hope this goes ahead this week!
Time: 6:15 – 7:45 meeting at Stereame.
Route: we will cycle out to the top of the hill at Gooig and back. This is roughly 28 miles, so we should have it finished in 1.5 hours. We will warm-up out to the Five Alley and then start an hour long set. Once the hour is up we will cool down back to Nenagh.
Set: we will be practicing two-man break aways.
Training: we will be heading over to Roscrea – Templemore – Thurles – Kilcommon – Dolla – Nenagh. We would expect there to be two groups on the road with a split coming in Roscrea. The pace for this training session will probably be a little less than usual with some lads racing the next day. For those looking for a shorter cycle – turn for home at Templemore or Thurles.
Racing: the Rás Maigheo 2 day is on Saturday and Sunday. Eamon, Kevin and Mike are heading up to this. They will compete in 3 stages over the 2 days. With a bit of luck we could be celebrating a decent result up there.
Training: 8:00am from Tescos. We will be heading over to the Wolftrap for some lovely hill training in preparation or La Marmotte. We will be doing 3 big climbs and we expect everyone to try all 3 of them, so we will be giving a head start.
Racing: Munster: Rás Luimní – this race is hosted by Limerick CC and we always have a decent showing on the start line. The quality of this race is usually very strong so it gives you a good idea of where you are at. All race details are on the poster below.
