The good news first – it should be dry and sunny for the weekend. The bad news is that it will probably be Baltic again. We might have to stick to the main roads and then again we might not. Check out Viber for late change of plans just in case. For now we plan on doing the routes below. Make sure to wrap up warm and put a rear light on your bike in case of fog.
Novice / junior cycle: 2:30pm at the Abbey Court Hotel.
Senior cycle: the plan as of now is to head to Roscrea – Birr – Borrisokane, but this is highly likely to change as the frost is usually far worse as you head east to Roscrea. If we do this route we will split at the roundabouts in Roscrea. We will have 3 groups on the road – know what group you are going in before we start. No group should wait in Birr, instead keep cycling until caught. Harder efforts are from Roscrea to Birr and from Borrisokane back to Nenagh. Both intervals are pretty short so you can afford to push it a little.
If the road conditions are too dangerous we will stick to the N7 and cycle a route similar to last weeks. It could quite possibly be the exact same route. If we do that route then people should know exactly what is expected and how tough / easy it is.
Sunday Cycle: we are due a long one but with the current weather we are going to have to put it off for another week. We will probably do the lake but again it depends on the road conditions. If it is too bad we will stick to the main road. We might also be forced to change the start time to 9:00 at Tescos. But for now its – 8:00 at tescos doing the lake
