Weekend Cycling

The weather forecast for this weekend is not looking great but hopefully we get a bit of luck and it stays dry enough for our club cycles. Sunday is looking a little bit better for anyone looking to head over to Shannon for their A3 and A4 race. The National Youth Champs are on this weekend so we wish Daniel the best of luck at that.

Fundraising Night: club member Majella Moyles is having a fund-raising night this Saturday, August 20th in the Half Door pub on Summerhill. She is looking to raise funds for the Breast Cancer Clinic UHL. The event kicks off at 8:30 SHARP. Try to make it if you can.

Saturday Training

Start: 9:00am at the hotel

Route: we will be heading over to Dalys Cross, O’Briens Bridge (good turn for home point), Broadford, Tuamgraney, Killaloe, Portroe and back to Nenagh.

Racing

There are 3 races on this weekend where we should see some club participation.

    • National Youth Champs: take place on Saturday and Sunday in Kanturk. There is an 8km TT and criterium on Saturday with a stage race on Sunday. Daniel has been flying in training so I am sure he will do great in this race.
    • Wexford 2 Day: Denis Allen will fly the flag for the club at this event. He will be in the A3/Junior race and will have to do a stage race and hill TT on saturday followed by a stage race on Sunday.
    • Club Rothaiochta Classic: takes place on Sunday, August 21st over a 17k loop
There will be a seperate Ladies, A4 & A3 Race.
      Ladies 68k (3 laps)
      A4 68k (4 laps)
      A3 85k (5 laps)
Sign on from 09:00 first ride away at 11:00.
