The Saturday club cycle is back on tomorrow and we hope to see a good few members back out racing down in Killorglin on Sunday too. Denis also continues to impress at the Junior Tour which will finish up on Sunday.
Junior Tour of Ireland
After 4 stages of the Tour, Denis now lies in 47th overall. The 3rd stage brought the tour over to Lahinch. It was a tough stage but Denis did really well finishing in the main bunch and moving himself up on GC. The 4th stage was today and it was the hardest stage to date with lots of climbing to do. Just 40 remained in the main bunch at the finish line. Denis came home in 48th place just 3 minutes behind the main pack but well ahead of the other small bunches that came in after him. This was another great effort by Denis and he improved in the General Classification, moving into the top 50 in 47th place. If he could hold on to that position to the end then that would be a fine result in his first year as a junior.
Stage 5: hill top finish on Gallows Hill, Cratloe. Should finish around 2:30pm.
Training: starts at 9:00am at the hotel
Route: we are going to head over the Roscrea, Birr, Borrisokane and back to Nenagh. I don’t expect the pace to be to hard as there is a race on Sunday and everyone else seems to be winding down at this stage after a long, tough season.
Training: club cycle at 8:00am from Tescos. Route will be decided that morning.
Racing: a group are heading down to Kilorglin in search of more points. There are senior and youth races to enter.
