Saturday Cycle: 9:00am SHARP from the pool. We are back repeating our training routes for the 3rd time. Once again you get the chance to see how much you have improved on each of the routes. First up is the Nenagh – Toom – Birdhill – Daly’s Cross – Killaloe – Coum – Nenagh route. It is a flat route with a kick at the end for those that want it.
There will be 3 intervals on this route. The 1st is from Ballinamona to Shalee. The 2nd is from Birdhill to Killaloe and the 3rd is from Portroe over to Mulrooneys garage. Please try and target all 3 intervals. Don’t take the easy option of turning for home at Portroe. Leave enough in the tank for all of it. We don’t cycle enough hills at pace in our club training sets so give this a go. Once we hit Mulrooney’s garage we will cruise back to Nenagh.
Racing Cyclists: will be starting an hour earlier at 8:00am from the pool. With 5 weeks left to the first race of the season, you don’t need me telling you that you shouldn’t be missing these sessions.
Beginners: there are plenty of turn around points on this route. Aim to get to Dolla, the Silvermines or the Dublin road and turn for home.
Juniors: the racing season is approaching quickly. We want to see good numbers of juniors on the road. Try and do as much as possible, but we don’t want any heroes on the road!
Sunday Cycle: 8:00am from Tescos. If you miss Saturday’s cycle or you want to punish your legs a little bit more, then come out with us on Sunday morning. We will be doing the lake one more time this Sunday, before we head off once again on different / longer routes in the following weeks. We had 16 out with us last week, so if we can get similar numbers out we will create two groups of similar ability (with the first group being more controlled this week).
Cycling insurance – there are still people that have yet to renew their license for 2015. Try and get it sorted before the weekend >> visit Cycling Ireland website
