We have another exciting weekend of training and racing action to look forward to and in an added bonus – the weather is going to be warm and sunny…finally! Try and fit in a training session and a race if you can. You can’t afford to be slacking off with the training now that you are racing.
Novice: 10:00 at the hotel | Junior training at 2:30 at the CBS
Senior: starts at 9:00 from the hotel (ras lads starting at 8:00)
plan: we are trying out a new spin tomorrow morning. The Ras lads + anyone that wants a longer cycle are heading off at 8:00am towards Kinnitty, Clonaslee and then up the cut and wolftrap. The main group will be heading out at 9:00 in the direction of Roscrea – Kinnitty. We would like for the group to go up the wolftrap from the Kinnitty side and turn round at the top and head for home via Borrisokane. The plan is for the ras group to catch the main group on the road back to Nenagh and we will all cycle back together then.
There is 30km difference in length so the rás group will have their work cut out catching up. The main group can split in two at Kinnitty with those that want to do the hill turning right and the rest turning left. The map below is for the main group.
Training: group to meet at 8:00 at Tescos. Route will be decided on the morning. If you are not racing then make it your business to be there.
Racing: we are expecting a good club turnout at Rás Luimní on Sunday. It is one more opportunity for us to get points on the board. The course is pretty flat but the pace can be quite high and the quality of cyclist is usually high too. Don’t let that put you off as we are all pretty handy ourselves! Race details are on the poster.
