The weather looks decent enough for the morning with it expected to get worse in the afternoon = you better get out on your bike early with the club!! After last week’s cycle was called off, I am sure everyone is chomping at the bit to get going again. The plan for the weekend is below
Novice Cycle: will be starting this week at the earlier time of 10:00am. The group will be hoping to cover about 25km at an average speed of 20 – 24kph. This session is ideal for beginners and improvers.
Senior cycle: starts at 9:00 at the hotel
The route is Roscrea > Birr > Borrisokane, then you have the choice of heading for home or going home via Ballinderry/Puckaun or Carrigahorrig/Puckaun. There are two interval sessions. The first from Roscrea to Birr and the second from Borrisokane to Nenagh via whichever route you select. The usual splits will occur at the roundabouts in Roscrea.
Sunday Cycle: this cycle will start at 8:00am at Tescos and the route will be selected that morning by those that turn up. This is not a beginner friendly cycle. If you miss the Saturday cycle then make sure you attend this cycle. If you keep missing club cycles then soon enough the club will leave you behind and the rest of the season will be a hard slog
Cycling Ireland Insurance: get it sorted asap. There are a few people out cycling without insurance at this stage and that is not acceptable in a large group like ours.
Photos from WW1: thank to Con’s dad for the photos from round one of our winter league. The pain can be seen on everyone’s face. Remember – Race 2 will take place on Jan 30th. Make it your business to be there.
