Once again the club is appealing to its members to prioritise National Series races where possible. Last year, was a very successful year for the club. Our mens, womens and mixed teams all performed very well, breaking into the top 10 for the first time. This year we want to go better!!
The women’s team have the potential to get a top 3 position if they keep going the way they are going. Sinnead Oakes, Cliodhna McGrath, Sinead Kennedy, Majella Moyles, Margaret Hogan, Anita Egan, Geraldine Kyne and Sheila Gregan can all score highly and if they get the 5 races in then they will do very well.
The men’s team will find things a little tougher but between Shane Scully, Keith Butler, Kevin Sherlock, Andy McLoughlin, Mikey O’Dwyer, Ronan O’Driscoll, Sean Gleeson, Martin Mitchell, Eoin Woolley, Ronan Walsh, and possibly Gary Scully the team could do quite well. Hopefully a few of our other older and newer members can prioritise these races and feature this year.
Individually, the club are very strong too. Darren Dunne will be looking to do well in the Junior National Series. Shane Scully will once again battle for the overall title. Sinnead Oakes will be hoping to go well in the overall womens. Keith Butler will be strong in the vets category and Majella Moyles could do well in her age group. There are always some surprise packages as well.
