Tipperary Road Race Championships

Nenagh CC are hosting the 2016 Tipperary Road Race Championships. We invite all Tipperary clubs to travel up to Birdhill for our race. The success of this event depends on it being supported by clubs from around the county so it would be great if ye could all fit this into your racing calendar. Find our race event on Facebook and help spread the word. See ye all on the start line.

When? Thursday, July 21st

Cost? €10

Where? Birdhill

Registration? is in Cooper’s Pub in Birdhill. Registration is from 6:00pm to 6:45pm. You must have a Cycling Ireland racing license to take part.

Who can enter? open to all A1, A2, A3, A4, juniors and women. Only those that are from Tipperary or race for a Tipperary club are eligible to win prizes. If you are from outside the county and just fancy a mid week race then come along too. This race replaces our summer league race for that week; all those that normally enter the Summer League – enter this instead.

Format: the race will be handicapped. The A4s and women will go first followed by the A3 and Junior group. Last will be the A1 / A2 group. The handicaps at the moment are going to be 0, 2, 4, but that could change depending on numbers.

  • cash will be awarded for the first 5 finishers across the line
  • top 3 in each category get a county medal
  • There will also be a team prize (best 3 to count on a team)

Route: the course is the same one as the one used in the Nenagh Summer League. We do two laps of that route with a little detour up Chapel Hill to tackle as well. The course is on big wide open roads and it should lead to a very safe race. There are a few drags on this route but nothing that should scare anybody away from racing.
