19 people turned up this week for the second race in our time trial series. 18 of the 19 managed to improve on their times from last week despite the wet conditions. The wind was lighter this evening and that seemed to make a big difference. It is great to see so many club members cycling well at this stage of the year with the triathlon season just about to begin.
So who are the world champs on these courses this week??
There were only two brave enough to take on the long course today. Dan and Seán both took on the tough Seáníns route with Dan once again going under the hour mark, finishing in a time of 57:28. Over the 14 mile route, we had a strong turn out of 11. Eoin Sheehan knocked a huge 2 1/2 mins off his time from the previous week. Shane Scully also improved his time a lot and took the quickest split of the day in a time of 34:10. Sinnead Oakes was once again the fastest female over this course finishing in a time of 40:22. There were 6 club members who took on the 9 mile route with Darren Dunne starting to show some good form in the run up to the North Tipp Sprint as he finished with the fastest time of 24:17. In the women’s race, Sinead Kennedy came home in the fastest time. Her time of 29:07 was 1:38 faster than last week. Great stuff from everyone.
For those of ye that decided that the best training is done at home with Ben & Jerry. Rejoice in the fact that ye have fallen even further behind. I think more comfort eating might be in order!

Next Time Trial: is looking like it will be on April 25th.
Next Event: North Tipp Sprint – club members are expected to help out on just one day of the year and this is that day. Volunteer to marshall by contacting Cliodhna. Don’t have us chase ye up. It will be bad form if we have to go around ringing everyone individually next week that hasn’t contacted us.
Next Cycle: Saturday morning April 13th. Route: Nenagh – Latteragh – Seánín’s Hill – Toomevara – Moneygall – Army Hill – Borrisoleigh – Currabaha Cross – Templederry – Dolla – Nenagh 45 miles or so.
