While the sun split the rocks in Nenagh, a few club members made the long journey to Lanesboro for the Two Provinces Sprint Triathlon. Thankfully it was slightly cooler in Longford for the start of the race anyway. The swim was nice and toasty, with the water as warm as a bathtub. A nice easy bike course (full of pelatons and trains as per usual these days) and a flat, roomy run course with fab hose water to the face, made this triathlon thoroughly enjoyable. The club was represented by five members hoping to add to their National Series tally. We had a PB, a newbie and a casualty (yes that was a hamstring you heard tearing!). Finishing times were Sean Gleeson 1:16:13, Ross O’Meara 1:16:20, John Ryan 1:30:45, Anita Egan 1:32:13 and Cathal Donovan 1:33:37. Special mention to Cathal for completing his first race for the club. Well done.
