Thank You

After accumulated hours, thousands of kilometers covered and months of hard, focused, dedicated training our ladies race team: Rachel Clancy, Sinead Kennedy, Sinnead Oakes and Majella would now like to say a huge appreciated ‘Thank You’ to the following:

Anita Egan & Julie White for loan of their spare bikes and TT helmets. Brian O’Neill & Moynan’s Bike Shop for loan of bike/roof racks. Gerard Higgins (Third Eye Technology) who came to the rescue three days before Ras, offering us a vehicle to use as the team car….huge success and mega huge thanks. Leo Moyles (Moyles Garage Ltd) for mechanical work carried out on team car morning of first race. Cathal Murphy & Ian O’Halloran of Planet Tri for gels and recovery supplements. Cathal Oakes, Matty Kennedy and Kenneth Kennedy for allowing us use of their race wheels, as spare wheels. Pa (Anthony) Kennedy not only gave fantastic rubs, but was our mentor, counselor and go-getter. Bertie Sherlock, no race or adventure would be the same without him…..he is a man with years of wisdom, knowledge and patience.  A true gentleman. Kenneth Kennedy not only our team manager but one of our trainers. He not only proved to be a dedicated, hard core trainer..but during our Ras was an understanding, alert, caring, humorous guy. A gentleman in the making 🙂 Shane Scully for taking on the eye-opening task to train us women for the Ras. There were sessions when all one would see is Shane throwing his arms in the air…..him wondering ‘what, are ye ladies doing?’ To Noel Kennedy for the supply of rain gear for Friday’s race (he delivered these to Ennis straight from work previous evening) Thanks to Gill & Matty Kennedy for loan of their club gear. Gary Scully and Shane Scully for giving us the NSL as a means of raising funds for Ras. To the women in the club for keeping the female numbers high on club spins and listening to us for the past year go on about the Ras.   Nenagh Triathlon & Cycling Club fellow members/friends for supporting and encouraging us along the way, not only during the cold, wet, windy training sessions, but at races around the country and especially during our week in Ennis. Ye are the bestest guys/gals. And last but by no means least, to our families…husbands, partners, children, parents, siblings and in-laws, without ye we would not have been able to make training sessions, club sessions, races and meetings. You were all part of making the Ras na mBan a dream come true for us.
