Saturday Club Cycle

Numbers were slightly down on last Saturday’s club cycle compared to the previous week. Was the hilly route the deciding factor for a few of ye not to join or other commitments…. (if it was the hilly route, ye can blame Johnny)… Whatever the reason, for those that did take part, it will be a cycle not to be forgotten for a while. Luck was on Cliodhnas side for a good part of the cycle. Talk about living on the edge. She was having difficulty changing gears with the chain on the back rings basically skipping. While cycling through Silvermines, John Carroll advised her to pull off the road to see what the problem with the bike was. Cliodhna dismounted her bike, when lifting it up by the saddle the back wheel fell from the frame as the back wheel was not secured into place!! 5 minutes later, Clifford got a puncture! We all managed to cycle up Shallee hill which was a first for a few of the club cyclists. We all managed to finish the cycle at an average speed of 16+mph.
