New Training Timetable

Starting next week our new training timetable will start. I have laid out the first two weeks.The time table will change slightly from week to week as we progress through the season.

Explanation:

  • Club Events Day: Wednesday will be a day for hosting club events. These events include the Dromineer Duathlon, Aquathon and Triathlon Series, Time Trial League and a 5km Run Series.
  • Swimming: At the moment there isn’t much swimming on the timetable but there isn’t much we can do about that – Tuesday and Thursday morning swims will return once the pool opens (likely date = June 1st) and lake swims will return on Sunday evenings in the last week of April. In the mean time, we will be testing out swimming on a Friday evening or possibly a Saturday evening – if the interest is there then it will go ahead. Club aquathons and triathlons will begin in May.
  • Cycling: there are plenty of cycling activities for both our triathletes and cyclists to take part in. The main racing day is the Nenagh Summer League on Thursdays and the main training day is still the Saturday morning. There will also be cycling events on Wednesdays e.g. time trial league, duathlons and triathlons. The Limerick Summer League offers another great opportunity to get in a tough mid-week cycle but if you want to take it easy then turn up outside Moynans on Tuesday for a handy mid-week group training spin.
  • Running: Monday is now the main running day. The Friday run session is cancelled – we are open to restarting this later in the summer if we feel there is a demand. Wednesday will also involve running now be a club event day where we take part in duathlons, aquathons, triathlons, time trials, and a 5km run series. Our beginner run will continue from Tescos at 6:30pm

Week 1 – Mar 31st – Apr 6th

Monday: 6:15pm Running – CBS track session

Tuesday: Day off

Wednesday: 7:00pm Dromineer Duathlon

Thursday: 6:15pm Nenagh Summer League – open training day. This ride is to get people ready for the start of the league the following week. If you are a club member and you are interested in cycling in our summer league then it is very important to make this session.

Friday: Swim – time and venue tbc / 6:30pm Beginner Run from Tescos (various run distance depending on numbers)

Saturday: 9:00am Senior Cycle from the pool.

Sunday: Race day or rest day

 

Week 2 – Apr 7th – 13th

Monday: 6:15pm Running – CBS track session

Tuesday:  cycling – two choices – (1) Group cycle at 6:30pm from Moynans shop (2) Limerick Summer League at 7:00pm (we cycle out and back from Nenagh – this is a very hard cycle) 

Wednesday: 7:00pm Time Trial League – start at hospital car park – choice of 3 routes – 10 mile, 14 mile or a hilly 19 mile

Thursday: 6:15pm Nenagh Summer League. We want as many club members to support this race as possible. You can cycle out or drive out to the start line, we don’t care as long as you are there. For triathletes, this is a good chance to do a tough brick session.

Friday: Swim – time and venue tbc / 6:30pm Beginner Run from Tescos (various run distance depending on numbers)

Saturday: 9:00am Senior Cycle from the pool.

Sunday: Visit Nenagh Classic
