The scheduled junior cycle training day – Sat, Feb 22nd – is called off. Please spread the word.
This is a very frustrating time for everyone involved in our club and I am sure it is frustrating for our junior cyclists and their parents. The trainers in the club are very keen to get this junior team up and running but things seem to be conspiring against us. It’s not just the junior training sessions that have been affected; many of our senior training sessions have been called off over the last two months. The weather at this time of year is almost unprecedented. As the days get longer, warmer and drier – everything will hopefully begin to work like clockwork.
The exact reasons for tomorrow’s cancellation are:
- CBS fields are waterlogged
- Multiple trees have fallen down, including one on the track.
- The school entrance is closed due to works on foot path.
- There is an 86% chance of it raining throughout the planned time.
We are looking into ways to ensure the weather doesn’t have this type of effect on our junior training in the future.
We will make sure that there is always an indoor option available, where we will be including indoor activities and indoor cycling for the juniors to do. That way, you will always be 100% certain that the training will go ahead. We would have moved into the CBS hall tomorrow if it weren’t for the fact that school exams are taking place and the hall is full of tables and chairs. This might sound like the perfect storm of excuses but believe me, we are as annoyed about all this as anyone. Sorry once again for the late notice on this. We hope to reschedule this Saturday session soon.
