There were 14 entrants in this week’s TT league. It was great to see 4 of our junior riders willing to put themselves through pain this evening. There was plenty of pain for our senior riders too, but the weather was dry at least with a slight head wind on the way home from Toomevara.
In the 19 mile race, Shane Scully set the fastest time of the evening with a time of 38:21 which was two seconds outside the course PB. Next home was Hugh Flannery in a time of 53:21. Derek Bowen was taking on this long distance course for the first time and even though he missed the Seáníns turn off, he still recorded a fast time of 56:00.
In the 14 mile race, Gary Scully was first man home in a time of 33:49. In 2nd place was Keith Butler in a time of 35:10. In 3rd, and first woman home was Julie White who set a new women’s course record of 37:30 on her new TT bike. Also competing over this distance was Andy McLoughlin, Anita Egan, Eoin O’Connor, and John Gleeson.
Our 4 juniors took on the 9 mile route. Dillon Neary set the fastest time of 26:34. That was a great first attempt by Dillon. Aaron Duggan was next home in a time of 31:06. Calvin and young Connor Adams came in together for joint 3rd in a time of 35:25. Great stuff lads!
Well done to everyone that took part. These TTs will really benefit you for the rest of the season. Knowing how to push it at your limit for a sustained period of time is very important.
