Club Training

The final winter time table hasn’t been fully decided yet. Bare with us for a few days. The sessions below will go ahead this week.

Running: The Monday run is over until February (replaced by Bertie’s circuit training). We are going to experiment with making Thursday the main running day for a while. Start time will be 6:15pm on Thursday in the CBS. Starts this Thursday Oct 10th.

Swimming: It takes a long time to improve at swimming as it is a very technical sport. To swim well next summer you need to get in the pool now. There are going to be 3 official club swim sessions – two in the morning and one in the evening. We know 6:30 is early but it really is the best time to swim. It wakens you up in the morning and after a few weeks you will get used to the early starts.

If you are just starting with the club then the best day for you to attend is Wednesday evening. Swimming in a lane with others can be a bit daunting at first but you will get used to it. The more you swim the better you will get – you really just need to stick at it and don’t give up. Try and attend two swims a week if possible.

Cost: €5.20. This is the pool entry fee. We recommend people buy a monthly, 6 month, or annual membership to the pool as it works out a hell of a lot cheaper.

Tuesday: 6:30am – 7:30am

Thursday: 6:30am – 7:30am

Wednesday: Beginner friendly – 8:00pm
