Training Weekend 2
Next weekend sees the second of our club training weekends. The weather at the moment is looking dry and sunny so we will keep our fingers crossed that we can get all the sessions run without the weather playing havoc!! This weekend we are going to try and put a little bit more focus on the bike side of things so with all that can be gained from small improvements on the bike we hope that there is plenty of interest
As with all club events the success and put on these weekends depends on club members making themselves available and taking part in the various sessions. Below is the outline of the weekend sessions:

Saturday cycle 09:00:
The usual Saturday cycle will take place from the Abbey court hotel and as ever we encourage as many club members as possible to attend this session. There is no better cycling session you can do to improve your overall triathlon ability so if you have not been able to turn up yet this season why not make this a priority over the weekend. As ever the course is designed with multiple turn points so pick a point and give it a go!
Team Time Trial 14:00:
Next up in the afternoon we are going to hopefully try something new with the team time trial. This will take place on the usual 10k / 20k / 36k routes as the time trial series and we will set up teams of 2 or 3 depending on numbers interested. The time trial will be run off a reverse handicap system with first past the post wins.
As this is a time trial the usual 10m draft rules will apply and we will have plenty of motorbike marshals on the course 😉 !!
There will be a short warm-up at 13:30 for anyone interested and then the battle will commence at 2pm
In order to organise the handicaps and create teams etc. we will need to get an idea of number and times so if you can get on to the Viber group to let us know which of the distances you are doing and a rough estimate of your 20k bike time we will do the rest!

Day 2 will see the usual Winter warrior duathlon (fingers crossed!!)……that will take place around the Nenagh Leisure Centre / Abbey court area. As always, the run will be an out and back along the Dublin route with a 1k and 2k turnaround point. The bike will be on the North Tipp sprint route and will have 5k and 10k turnaround points.
The recommended distances are: 4k – 20k – 2k 2k – 10k – 2k

All the sessions during the training weekend are open to all, both members and non-members. We have attempted as much as possible to create routes that cater for all but if there are any suggestions then let a member of the committee know or email (firstname.lastname@example.org)
See ye all bright and early Saturday morning!!!!!!!
