Friday 24th February
Core strength / Sports Yoga 7:30
The first session is a combined core / yoga session. If there is one thing that the majority of members neglect it is the combination of adequate core stability and stretching combined with rest and massage. This session will give a brief outline of appropriate stretches and core stability postures that can be undertaken at home to help develop strength and more importantly prevent injury.
Nutrition Seminar 8:30
Following on from our successful nutrition seminar from last year we are again going to take a look at nutrition and how this can be used to fuel us for sport and fitness.
Saturday 25th Feb
Swim stroke analysis 09:00
A few of the triathlon / Masters lads will be available poolside on Saturday morning to do a short session looking at specific stroke issues and generating relevant drills and tips to help overcome these.
This session is free and on offer to all triathlon / masters members but will be booked into 15 minute time slots between 9am and around 11am.
So if you wish some basic tips on what your stroke is up to then get in touch with a member of the triathlon / Masters committee on the Viber group with a time and we will try and accommodate as many members as possible!!!!
The Junior club members will be heading off on their travels to the first Duathlon on the club calendar. The Junior training has picked up over the last few weeks and after the successful Club duathlon last weekend, the club are confident that the Junior members heading to Athy will be well up the field in the respective events. Good luck to all!!!!
Ennis Masters Gala
Saturday evening will see a group of triathlon / Masters swimmers heading over to Clare for this evening Gala. This will be the first Gala attended en masse by the Club so we wish all those taking part the best of luck and bring back the bacon!!!!
Sunday 26th Feb
Day 3 will see the first of our duathlon series along the usual route around the Nenagh Leisure Centre / Abbey court area. The run will be an out and back along the Dublin route with a 1k and 2k turnaround point. The bike will be on the North Tipp sprint route and will have 5k and 10k turnaround points.
The recommended distances are: 4k – 20k – 2k 2k – 10k – 2k
10k/20k bike route
All the sessions during the training weekend are open to all, both members and non-members. We have attempted as much as possible to create routes that cater for all but if there are any suggestions then let a member of the committee know on the Viber group or email (email@example.com)
Hope to see ye at some stage over the weekend!!!!!!!
