Club Notes

Tuesday Training: is turbo training in the running complex at 7:30pm. Cost = free, just bring your bike and the correct skewer for the back wheel. We have spare turbos.

jersey3Junior Cycling: Our next training session is on this coming Saturday in the Nenagh CBS. We have plenty of fun activities for you to do so prepare for a good workout. Training starts at 2:30pm in the CBS grounds.

  • Junior Cycling Gear: we are offering a big discount on our cycling gear for juniors. You are not required to buy the gear but if you plan on racing for the club then you will need a jersey.
  • jersey: €30, shorts: €40

Become a Cycling Coach: could all members that wish to take part in a course to become a qualified junior cycling coach get in contact with Shane 0872605743. We are trying to arrange a date for a Cycling Ireland coach to come down to Nenagh to run a course. The club will subsidise the cost of this, but participants must return the favour and help out with our junior training days.

Wednesday Swimming: There was a huge turnout for our swim last week in Limerick. So much so that we packed out the available lanes. The lanes were too overcrowded to do a good set and we were getting in the way of many of the regulars, so this week we have hired a lane in the pool at the same time 7:00pm on Wednesday.

Upcoming run race: A few lads are heading to a 5 mile road race in Tua, Co. Galway on Sunday. They are leaving at 12:00 with the race starting at 2:30pm. The county road racing season is fast approaching so you need to try and fit in as many road races as possible before then.

LTC Training Weekend with Simon Ward – All Welcome: Limerick Triathlon Club are running a triathlon training weekend with 220 Triathlon Coach of the Year 2012 Simon Ward taking place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th January 2014. The bulk of the course will be located in UL with swimming in UL Pool, a track session and some turbo sessions. There will be theory sessions in between each activity. The course is open to all levels, distances and abilities and is open to all triathletes not just members of Limerick Tri Club. Cost will be €40 for Limerick Tri members and €60 for non-members. Final timetable for the course will be published shortly. Get your name down now by contacting secretary@limericktriathlon.com

Racing: Nenagh CBS 10km – There was a large turnout from the club at this charity fun run in aid of the CBS. Tops results were recorded by Darren Dunne who won the 5km race and David Sheahan who won the 10km race. Gary and Shane got lost on the course so they had to settle for 2nd and 3rd.
