Club Notes

Turbo Training: No turbo this evening. There will need to be a committee meeting to decide if we are going ahead with Thursday turbos as a new training start time has been proposed and we need to see if it is suitable. We will report back early next week. Tuesday turbo will continue as normal at 7:30pm.

Wednesday Evening Run: this session is now cancelled. We urge everyone that was going to this session to attend the Friday evening run @ 6:15 from the CBS instead. This involves interval work in a confined area so there is no getting left behind. Don’t let the word interval scare you off – you just run as fast or as slow as you want and take a break when you want.

Triathlon Racing Calendar: The calendar for the 2014 season has just been published > click to view. Once again it is packed full of exciting races from every corner of Ireland. There has been a change in the National Series this year. Far fewer races are now on the National Series list. This is a good move from Triathlon Ireland and will lead to better quality races, but it will also mean that the available National Series races will be tougher to get into as they will sell out quickly.

National Series: Once again we would like for our members to focus on the National Series races next year. We have potentially strong mens and womens teams if we can just get people to enter the races. Take a look at the calendar and try to pick out 5 races that you can do.

North Tipp Sprint: Unfortunately for our club, this change means that the North Tipp Sprint has been excluded from selection. Never Fear! our race has sold out every year since it started and we will try our hardest to make sure that the race sells out again.  In another change – the North Tipp Sprint will now take place a little later in the year – Saturday, May 10th. There are no other triathlons on this day in Ireland and it also gives the construction workers in the pool a chance to finish off their work (as no doubt they will miss the end of march deadline!).

Christmas Club Night Out: As always the club night out at Christmas will be about rewarding the performances of our members throughout the year. This year will be no different, so if you have starred for the club on the racing scene this year then make sure to be there. We like to reward people for their efforts in representing the club.

Best of Luck: to our junior members who are heading to Athlone on Saturday for the All Ireland Schools Combined Events Championships. Kick ass! that’s an order! Some of our more senior members are heading over to Sixmilebridge for a half marathon so best of luck to them too.

Triathlon Ireland Membership: is now open. As you all should know – you are required to have Triathlon Ireland insurance to train with this club. The club membership might be free but you still need to pay for the insurance (TI membership) to cover you at club training sessions > Triathlon Ireland Membership Details

Associate Membership for €20 will cover you for training sessions. If you plan on racing next year then you are probably better off taking out Full Membership for €55 > Click to purchase (select Nenagh in the ‘Already a club member’ part).
