Successful week of training: there were 126 people at the seven club training sessions last week. It was great to see 21 people out for the Friday evening run. These are strong numbers for early in the year. Lets make this week even better starting with Bertie’s circuit training at 7:00pm, cost: €5 – remember to be careful about where you park! There is also an unofficial long distance focused swim this evening at 8:15pm for those that are interested.
Help Spread the Word: we would like for as many people as possible to see what the club do and the special offers we give. Please help spread the word by liking or sharing our posts on this website or on our Facebook page. Thanks!!
Swim Discount: Don’t let anyone say we don’t provide value for money as a club! In our continued efforts to make it impossible for people to not join our club we are now offering discounted swim rates for club swimming sessions. We are going to trial this discount from now until Christmas at all 3 CLUB swimming sessions starting Tuesday morning @ 6:30am.
Details: Normal swim cost = €5.20 VS. New club price = €4.00. If you turn up to the Wednesday evening or Tuesday/Thursday morning swims then simply ask at reception for a club swim. Sign your name on the sheet and pay your €4.
Weekend Racing: it has been another very successful weekend of racing for the club across 3 very different sports.
- Cross Country: Darren Dunne and Killian Cullagh were in cross country racing action on Sunday in Cork. They took part in the Munster u/17 race and did very well with Killian finishing 4th and Darren in 10th.
- Adventure Racing: Shane and Gary Scully made the trip up to Westport for the Sea2Summit adventure race last Saturday. Both lads finished together in a time of 2:59 and that was good enough for 3rd and 4th place overall. You can read > Shane’s race report here
- CycloCross: Kevin Sherlock took part in round 3 of the Fixx Coffeehouse Cyclocross Series up in Dublin.
Upcoming Event: Annual Birdhill Turkey Run | 5km | 10km | Half Marathon – Birdhill, Co. Tipperary. We are hoping to get a large group from the club to go to this race. It takes place on December 1st and you can view details on their >> website. There are already over 10 people confirmed as going to this race so you won’t be alone. Whether you are looking to do a sprint, Olympic or Ironman distance triathlon next year there is a suitable race distance for you in Birdhill. We always give out that there are so few races on near to Nenagh so it is important to support the ones that are!! See you there.
Look at the sulky head on Darren Dunne!
Is it synchronised swimming the lads are practicing for?
The head on Kevin – looks like something happened to him in the woods!
