Club Notes

Hopefully everyone has an increased appetite for triathlon after watching the North Tipp Sprint. With the long evenings, warmer weather and whiff of triathlon in the air there has never been a better time to come out and train!

TT Series:  The 3rd race of the club TT series takes place tomorrow. There will be tea / biscuits / buns available at the finish line so that gives you one more reason to take part.

Lake Temperature: is only 8 degrees!! That is cold. According to the Guardian there hasn’t even been a Mayfly on the lake yet due to the cold snap. This means that only the brave, foolish and Sean Gleeson will be getting into the water anytime soon.

Don’t worry….our early morning swims are back on. This Thursday’s swim will start at 6:30am (but no flippers this week!!) and there is always this evening at 8:00pm! Keith will have his new prosthetic hip put in soon so he should be back helping us out in the pool again shortly.

Cycling Update 1: Bike Racing – The next bike race on the calendar is down in Currow on Sunday. The race kicks off at 1:00pm and it is a flat course. The A4 race is 40 mile, the A3 race is 50 mile and the A1/A2 race is 70 mile. The ‘team bus’ is out of action this week so its back to cars.

Cycling Update 2: Saturday Cycle Route – Nenagh – Toomevara – Roscrea – Birr – Borrisokane – Nenagh = 53 miles.
