Club Notes

Well that sure was a big week for the club. In what was a first for the club and town, our girls did the club proud by taking part and completing Rás na mBan. Mixing with some of the top female cyclists in the world is some experience and that will hopefully encourage our girls to keep training hard and return to this race sometime in the future. The last of our big events for the 2014 / 2015 season takes place this week with the Club AGM and End of Year Activities taking place.

Club AGM + Club Night Out: takes place this Saturday at 8:30pm in Larkins in Garrykennedy. We would like for as many people as possible to attend. We value your input into how the club is being run so if you want your voice to be heard then this is the place to be. As usual it will be a very relaxed affair with plenty of food and drink to be had. We all have a myriad of things to celebrate this year so let’s make it a good night.

End of Year Activities: there will be two options on Saturday – a cycle or a lake swim. Full details will be on the website during the week. Hopefully we can get a good attendance for both.

Weekend Racing

Rás na mBan: the girls were keeping a daily diary from the event so check the previous posts on our website.

Ironman Wales: congrats to Cathal Murphy for his fantastic performance at Ironman Wales over the weekend. Cathal finished this tough hilly race in a fast time of 12:27:56. Cathal completed the swim in a time of 1:20:52. He then went on to cycle a 6:32 and run a 4:19. Great stuff Cathal. Put the feet up now and enjoy some time off!

Munster Hill Climbing Champs: Shane Scully finished off his racing season at this hill tt event in Ballyorgan Co. Limerick on Sunday. Torrential rain meant the turn out for this competition wasn’t great but it was still good to see Shane winning the A1 and overall title in the club colours.

Shannon Suir Cycle: the club had plenty of people in attendance at this local charity cycle in aid of North Tipperary Hospice. Thanks to everyone for showing their support for this worthy cause.
