Club Notes
The weather is looking good for the weekend so there is no excuse for not getting out training. Here is what we have planned for the weekend….
Saturday
Training: It’s the Dolla, Rearcross, Newport, Killaloe route this week. As usual, in order to give people a chance to get up Dolla hill without getting dropped, we will split the group in two in Nenagh and aim to meet somewhere along the road to Newport.
Sunday
Training: cycling: we will be going for another long one this Sunday – see route below. The plan is to do an extended lake cycle with one stop at the 65 mile mark in Mountshannon. If you are doing M2M make sure you don’t miss this. It will be another early start – 7:00am at Tescos.
lake swimming: continues at 6:00pm out in Youghal. After a tough week of training why not cool off with a swim in Lough Derg. You will come out of the water feeling fresh as a daisy afterwards.
Racing:
Lough Cutra Triathlon – the triathlon season gets serious this Sunday with the first high profile event of the year taking place in nearby Lough Cutra. We should have 4 or 5 doing this. Darren Dunne could well be lining up in the Super Series event too, so best of luck with that.
Coachford Classic: our cyclists will be heading down to Cork for this race on Sunday. There is an A4 race and a combined A2/A3 race on the programme. Hopefully 5 or 6 of ye are motivated enough to attend this one. You just never know when you are going to do well. The only race you are guaranteed not to score is the one you don’t turn up too.
