Club Notes

A few club up-dates…..first up:

Junior Club Cycle – meeting up at 4.20pm, CBS for this evenings training session. Looking like a warm and dry afternoon, would be great to see few of you out.

Nenagh Summer League – as per usual, we will be meeting this evening 7pm at Gooig. Remember, if you park your car at Birdhill, keep valuable items safe by keeping out of view.

Club Duathlon – the club will be holding this years second duathlon on Wednesday 13th May, Dromineer. We had over 15 at our last club duathlon, so would be great to see a few more members taking part. You can either take on the duathlon which consists of a 5km run, 19km cycle and 2km run. Or our runners can do a 5km run or a slightly longer distance of 8km. And for those of you that are focusing on the bike this year, a 19km time trial might suit you. And of course, our juniors, ye are welcome to try out the duathlon, or complete the 19km time trial.

Also, maybe our domestic goddess’s, Mary Donnellan and Sinnead Oakes might like to provide some yummy home bake treats to enjoy with a cuppa at the end of the evening. Of course, all other goodies are always welcome.

Mizen to Malin – for those of you that have already signed up and for others that are still considering taking on the challenge, you are invited to come along to a brain storming get together on Saturday next, 9th May, at Rockys Pub. The purpose of this wee bit of a get together is to chat about the logistics of fitting breakfast, 250km cycle, lunch, dinner, hotel check in/out, toilet breaks, puncture stops, Andy’s photos, Ken’s choice of sing-a-long tunes and 9 hours of sleep into 24 hours x 3. We want to make sure that everyone is happy with what we are attempting and expecting of ourselves. We want 3 days of enjoyment, not 3 days of misery!!

If anyone is still interested in doing Mizen to Malin, can you drop down a deposit of €50 to Majella as soon as possible. Accommodation will need to be confirmed soon with the booked hotels.

Belated well done to Greg Starr, who not only took part in the 10km Great Limerick Run, but also completed the Cycle Against Suicide on Saturday. Super stuff!!
