Just in case you have been living under a rock for the last while
***** the Nenagh Summer League Starts TODAY! *****
Rest up on Friday (by rest up I mean go for a light run or cycle), then it’s all systems go for another big weekend of training and racing.
Triathlon: It will actually be a quiet weekend of racing for the triathlon side of the club with no nearby races on the calendar. Our mid week club events will be starting very soon (probably next Wednesday), so be prepared for some hardship. Wednesday at 6:30 is the usual time for these events. We will have Dromineer races, a TT series, and a 5km run series to enjoy.
Nenagh CC Juniors: Notraining this Saturday.
Senior Saturday Spin: we plan on doing the Visit Nenagh A3 route (113km). This is a tough route with plenty of climbing. The first group will be taking some short cuts so as to stay ahead of the back group during intervals. The first interval will be from Ballina > Birdhill > Portroe. The 2nd will be from just outside Nenagh > Dolla > Templederry > Seaníns > Toom. The option of stopping once we return to Nenagh the first time is available to those that are finding cycling tough with us at the moment.
Sunday spin: the usual Sunday spin will not take place this weekend. Instead we ask those who want to cycle on Sunday to support the Kildangan Centenary Cycle. There should be a good few from the club at this event. You can see more details on their >> Facebook page or take a look at the poster at the bottom of this post.
Broadford 2 Day: for women and masters, starts on Saturday with a flat stage followed by a time trial. Our women’s team will then return on Sunday for a tough hilly cycle. Two days of hard racing is a big step up for the girls. Let’s hope they get on great.
Fermoy: Our seniors and juniors will both be heading down to Fermoy on Sunday. There is a full A1/A2 + A3 + A4 race programme and a full underage programme too. For juniors, we will put full travel details on the website on Friday. Make it your business to be there. The club will put a notice on Facebook if for some reason we think the weather is too bad for cycling. If there is no message, then meet us at Bamba square. The sun won’t be shining every time you race!
