Club Notes

Beginner training: it was great to see good numbers at our beginner run and swim on Wednesday. If you are looking to join our club then make sure you turn up to our Wed run at 6:30pm from Tescos, or/and our swim at 8:00pm next Wednesday. Bertie’s circuit training on Monday’s at 7:00 in the running complex is also a good one to attend.

Christmas party: so far it’s looking like Dec 20th will be the day for the club Christmas night out. The other dates seem to clash with a lot of races or other staff nights out. Further details to follow soon.

Garrykennedy 10km run: is on this Sunday at 1:00pm. Facebook.com/Garrykennedy10kFunRun

Weekend cycling: we have another big weekend of cycling coming up for you to enjoy. Those that are looking to race next year and haven’t been out much should really try your best to get the miles in this weekend. Try and make one of the cycles at least.

  • Saturday cycle: it’s the return of the Roscrea – Borrisoleigh – Templederry route. There will be two roll over sessions in this. The average pace will once again be a little faster than the first time we did this route. The end of the 2nd roll over will be Dolla.
  • Sunday cycle: we are shaking things up a little bit this Sunday. Instead of doing the lake we are going to head over towards Kinnitty and the cut and wolftrap. This cycle is quite long so you will need to plan for one extra hour on the road (home at 1 – start at 8:00 at Tescos). This is a long cycle but there will be a coffee stop and the option of avoiding some of the hills for those that don’t fancy it.
