Club Notes

We hope everyone is enjoying the day off from club training today? I definitely need it after circuit training on Monday! Its looking like Wednesday, October 22nd is when our evening swimming will return, so enjoy your Wednesdays off until then.

Training resumes on Thursday for both seniors and juniors:

  • Seniors – running – 6:15pm in the CBS school. This is an interval based run set and is as tough as you want to make it yourself. If you want to go slow then go slow, if you want to go fast then go fast. For new people to the session – take it easy on your first few goes and build your fitness slowly. The last thing you want to do is go home wrecked and never turn up at this session again. You have to think long term if you want to see real fitness and speed benefits in this sport.
  • Juniorscycling – 4:30pm at the CBS. This cycle is only suitable for our older juniors who already have experience cycling on the roads. We want a big effort from all our juniors over the winter so make sure not to miss the start of pre-season training. Winter miles = summer smiles. Now is when the work needs to be put in if you want to kick on to the top levels next year and hopefully represent Munster in some big races. Dream big!

turbo1Turbo Training: from next Tuesday onwards, turbo for our juniors will start at the earlier time of 6:00pm in the running complex and finish at 7:15pm. For any senior cyclists that wishes – you can turn up at 6:00pm and continue all the way through untill 8:30pm. That should make for a good training session!

Any turbos for sale? if any of ye are selling your turbo at a decent price then the club will buy it off you. We need them for our juniors. Thanks already to Mike Browne who has sold us one. We need 3 or 4 more though.
