Club Notes

What a great day for training. Plenty of sunshine and a chance to work on your tan. If you need an excuse to train then let this be it – it would be a crime to not train on a day like today. We have to put up with plenty of miserable days so enjoy the good ones when they come!

Junior training: our older junior cyclists will be out on the road again this afternoon at 4:30pm from the CBS. There are a few bike races coming up that we want some of our juniors to enter so its important to keep training.

Nenagh Summer League: is on this evening at 7:00pm. Roll out from Stereame car park at 6:05 SHARP – don’t wait for anyone after this time. A lot of club members drive out and park at the finishing line in Birdhill. This high intensity training session is ideal for improving your cycling ability. Try and stick in as long as you can!

Warning: the finish line for this evening’s summer league is going to be 3/4s way up the hill. That should toughen ye up a little!

Marshals for this evening – can you help out?? text Shane if you can.

Darren Dunne racing in Europe: the 2014 Weert ETU Triathlon + European YOG Qualifiers takes place this weekend in the Netherlands and the club will have a big interest in the result as Darren Dunne makes the step up to International racing. The competition will be fierce so hopefully that brings out the best in Darren. We will be getting a race update from Darren soon enough and it should be on the website this evening.

Club TT Race 4: don’t forget to check out the TT results from yesterday. The results only went up late last night (just in case you missed them).

Crotty Cup: this cycling race is always a good chance for lads to win some points. Kevin Sherlock won this race last year so it would be good for some of our lads to targetĀ  this race this weekend. Details: The Crotty Cup, one of Ireland’s oldest cycling races has, since the early 1930’s, been run by West Clare Cycling. This year it will be run on May 17th. Sign-up will begin at 1pm, with racing commencing at 3pm.
