Dromineer Aquathon – Race 1: The wind and rain meant that this race quickly became an endurance training session. The question was how much you could endure before running for the warmth of your car! The idea of having a race was abandoned early with all thoughts switching to just getting a bit of a swim in and perhaps a bit of a waddle afterwards. It was hard enough getting the 19 that turned up to even put their toes in the water, but after 15 minutes of staring at the water we all got in and gave it a go. The prevailing winds meant that the waves on the lake were unusually high for Dromineer. There is no point listing any times for this race – fair play to all those that gave both the swim and run a go (there wasn’t many). We will re-schedule the first proper race for later in the month.
