Club Notes

Wednesday Club Event = 2nd round of the club TT series. It is time once again to race against the clock. This TT is open to juniors and seniors. It all kicks off at 7:00pm at the hospital. There will be a warm-up cycle leaving at 6:15pm from the pool for anyone that wants to join in. As always there is a choice of 3 routes. Choose wisely!!

Lake Swimming: the club received some unexpected good news today with the revelation that the temperature of the lake is actually quite high at 13.50 – 14.00 degrees. This is a good temperature to start swimming in. With that news, we are going to have our first dip in the lake this Bank Holiday Monday at 6:00pm (no track running on bank holiday Mondays). The venue for this will be Youghal and there will be tea afterwards for everyone (I promise!).

Monday Track Running: As it is a bank holiday Monday coming up there will be no running next Monday. It was great to see so many girls at the last training session. It has been quite some time since the women outnumbered the men at training but it is a very welcome occurrence! Monday running will resume on April 28th.

New Club Member: Congrats to Michael Browne and Sabine on the birth of Killian Browne. Killian weighed in at 7lbs 1oz. Mike commented that Killian was a bit on the heavy side for a runner. We will see Mike again some time in 2016!

Club Problem!!! there are far too many people getting married or/and having children in this club. It is really disrupting the training schedule!! From now on permission will need to be sought from the club PRO Keith Butler if you want to get married or have children. Remember you are married to the sport. The only thing you should be giving birth to is gold medals!

Junior Training: we are currently on a two week break from training. We would like for our older juniors to try to make it to our Club TT this evening at 7:00pm at the hospital. There is a 15km circuit we want you to try. Record a time today and then see how much you can beat it by at the end of the summer. This is a great way for tracking your progress. If you want to do well in junior racing then you need to test yourself in time trials like this. Learn to love the pain!!

Seniors racing: as most of ye know by now Kevin Sherlock got promoted from the A4 to the A3 division last week. His head is still swollen after it so be sparing with the praise! Well done to Simon Ryan on the weekend for his performances up in Stamullen. Simon is really improving his fitness over the last few weeks and it is starting to show as he managed to secure two 4th place finishes in races on Friday and Saturday.

Nenagh Summer League: We want to see this race grow a little each week so keep spreading the word. Not many people know about this race yet so get the word out. We require big club support at this so clear Thursday evening in your diary because you have a date with your bike!!

Limerick Summer League: well done to all our club members that took part in the first race of the Limerick summer league. It was tough going as always but that is what you need. Again, don’t worry if you got dropped as things will get better. You have another chance for redemption at the Nenagh Summer League on Thursday at 7:00pm.

Kevin’s new race numbers.
